Cabal Archipelagos
Geography
The Cabal Archipelagos lie in a remote and foreboding corner of Glosmordin, nestled between four treacherous seas—the Sea of Nevair, the Sea of Calamities, the Sea of Mullenix, and the Sea of Surwan. Comprising five islands, these lands are shrouded in mystery and dark legends. At the heart of this sinister archipelago is the largest island, whose rugged landscape is dominated by Mt. Kurxong, an active volcano that has ravaged nearly a third of the island’s surface with its relentless outpouring of lava and ash.
Stretching some 500 miles in length and 200 miles in width, this island looms large over its smaller counterparts. The island’s coast is marked by a grim spectacle—the Bay of the Bleeding Eye. Both the mountain and the bay take their ominous names from the Evil God Kurxong, a deity of Fear, Vengeance, Lies, and Trickery, whose symbol is the ever-watchful Bleeding Eye. Legends claim that the followers of Kurxong practice unspeakable rites in the shadows of the volcano, though few have ever ventured to the island’s shores to confirm these chilling rumors.
The rest of the archipelago is scattered across the surrounding seas, with two smaller islands lying on the east and west flanks of the main island. The island to the east, located just north of the bay’s entrance, is particularly notorious, though no settlements have been recorded in living memory. To the north, two other islands stretch into the expanse of the Sea of Mullenix, with the farthest drifting close to the center of the ocean’s vastness.
What little is known of these islands comes from the tales of pirates, who, perhaps driven by desperation or madness, have braved the cursed waters and returned with stories of strange lights, ghostly apparitions, and the sound of unnatural wails carried on the wind. The Cabal Islands remain a place few dare to visit, and even fewer return to speak of it.
Isolated and shrouded in superstition, the Cabal Archipelagos stand as a testament to the reach of Kurxong’s malevolent influence. The air here is thick with fear, and the very land seems to whisper lies, daring those who are brave or foolish enough to explore its forsaken shores.
