The Cataclysm or its other infamous moniker, the War of the Gods was an event that saw the end of the Age of Wonders and the near destruction of all things on Zanphra. The entire world was turned asunder as war and natural disasters tore apart the world. It was not until the intervention of one of the Overlords of Creation known as the Architect put an end to the madness with the world left in ruins and plunging it into a post-apocalyptic world devoid of almost all technology that the survivors picked up the pieces.
