Tarksson, Nallin, Karlt, and Cedric are brought before the aboleth Velho, who bargains with them to serve him, and give him the red crystals they were given by Orchestria. Imili blows up Sieve to keep his crystals out of Velho's hands, and beckons the group to not do it. Tarksson betrays the group and binds himself to Velho, who demands that he kill Nallin, who has attacked him. Everything falls apart, and Tarksson kills Nallin, but spares Karlt. Cedric escapes, and circles back around to Karlt, and the two escape together.
