Sieve, Karlt, Cedric, Nallin, and Tjorvik return Royce's body to Orchestria. Sieve elects to keep his people on the front lines, and stay with them. Tjorvik returns to Chronicle City with Lady Alta. Lady Alta introduces the group to Imili, who gives the group some magical gear, and also gives Nallin some tips on how to use magic. Quinn introduces Tarksson to the group. Quinn creates "Quinn Sticks," a way to keep track of how much food is owed to people helping with the war effort. He has been put in charge of all food distribution in New Crescendo, as well as been made Orchestrator of the Arpeggio Guard (The Broken Chord), the all-human forward militia for the war effort.
