Death Rituals

People dispose of their dead in different ways, depending upon where they are from.

New Crescendo

Humans of New Crescendo bury their dead according to the customs of their favored Deity. While Humans worship all of the Gods, it is the custom of many humans to favor one over the rest, or at the very least feel drawn to one God for the sake of their death rituals. They are as follows:   Illuven: The body is burned, during the afternoon sun.
Visaria: The body is buried near or under a tree.
Yenna: Yenna has no tenants on how the body should be disposed of, however, there is a ceremony for followers of Yenna, and it's considered to be the most joyous affair of all funeral rites. Followers of Yenna express great joy at the life the deceased had lived, and tell happy, kind, or even funny stories. A large feast is thrown on behalf of the dead, and the wrapped body is present at the feast to be with their loved ones a final time.
Rog: The body is buried.
Storvo: The body is burned under the stars.
Lunara: The body is buried, under the moon.
Daestrus: Daestrus has no burial rituals, however His clerics, known as the Death Hands, do handle the fetching, blessing, cleaning, and disposal of all dead bodies in New Crescendo.
Maelstra: The body is put on a small raft, or log, and pushed out into the Bravura Bay, or otherwise sent out to sea.   Burial rituals often get complicated in New Crescendo. Someone who favored multiple gods equally might mix multiple rituals together. For instance, followers of both Illuven and Maelstra might send a body on a raft out to sea, and and burn it. If they also worshipped Lunara they might do the same thing, except at night. Different people have different customs, and it's often up to their family to decide what to do with them.
