Vampire

A vampire is a dangerous species of intelligent undead that must drink the life force of their victims in order to survive. While four "full-blood" variants of vampires are known to exist, some forms of vampirism can be spread genetically, and thus dozens of lesser types exist across the galaxy. All modern variants can trace their lineage back to the Strigoi, an extinct species of undead who came to the Material Plane from the Plane of Shadow.

Categories of Vampire

• Jiang-Shi: Vampires created by improper burials and unfulfilled wishes.
• Moroi: The species most often associated with the term "vampire", who feed on blood and fear the light of the sun.
• Nosferatu: Bestial immortals that eat the flesh of the living.
• Vetala: Vampires that feed on the power of the mind, draining a victim's psyche in return for strength.

Lesser Variants

• Vampire Spawn: Lesser undead created by vampires using the corpses of their drained victims.
• Dhampir: Half-vampire mortals created through a variety of rituals, mating habits, and mystic heritages.
