Inure and Ataxic-Atrophy

Among moons and the homeworld of Paentellus, a dangerous substance that was brought by the Ars spreads about the communities the Ars took over. The element has the corporate name Inure, but it's a harmful result of petrified Ataxia distilled in Ars laboratories as a means to improve combat capabilities and dealing with the Vora in homeworld and moon extraction operations. The substance found in pill form happens as the most common form of this substance, as pill form focused on more accessible, quicker digestion and distribution through the body during combat situations, and the element described traces back to artificial designs to deal with pain. As a result, the material effectively numbed the pain from combat experiences, but is unfortunately very addictive and numbs more than just physical pain. For those that become addicted to Inure, all things become a distant past, and more than only combat becomes ignored, often, the worst of the case ignore their existence and ultimately mutate into terrible creatures that the Ars use as weapons in their push backs against Vora invasions.   Inure is easily accessed in Xalia communities but is not a substance that should receive financial support. The Ars designed it with the desire to maintain the control they have over the people they've taken over, and even as an effective pain-killer, it causes far more issues than the benefits. It is a dangerous substance that shouldn't be offered by the local governments. Still, no one in power actively is trying to prevent its distribution, and they tend to acknowledge how it's easier to control the local populations with the spread of the drug. Additionally, it gets conflated with the natural herbal remedies of the various worlds that the Ars trying to enforce dominance, medications that had existed for thousands of years far before the Ars even appeared in the exosphere. The problem will always be whoever dictates the rulings and governance.
