This is a quick guide to character creation.
Homeworld
First pick a
Homeworld.
Career
Then pick a
Career. Your Homeworld may limit your available Careers.
Characteristics
Now decide your Characteristics. The standard way is to roll 2d10 9 times and assign each result to a Characteristic and then to add your Homeworld's modifier to each Characteristic.
Wounds
Now roll a 1d5 plus your Homeworld's modifier to generate starting Wounds.
Fate Points
To determine starting
Fate Points roll a 1d10 and consult the Fate Points Table on your Homeworld to see how many you start with.
Starting Experience
Normally each character begins with 400 xp. This starting xp can be spent on Characteristic advances, Skills, and Talents available to you in your career. It may also be spent on any compatible
Background Packages.
Buy Equipment
Your starting wealth is determined by your career. This starting amount can be used before the first session to buy additional equipment. Availability of an item does not matter during this step, only the cost.
Divination
Finally, roll for your
Divination.
