Doubters

The Doubters were a political pressure group advocating restraint of xenological trade in favour of the promotion of exclusive human to human transactions. Founded in 2338, two years before the Great Commercial League was established, their policies were ostensibly driven by economic concerns but increasingly they came to be seen as representing a xenophobic tendency which feared the Society Of Contemporary Races.
Initially, they were a fringe group but by the time of the fourth dynasty of the Resource Management World Government their numbers and strength had increased to the extent that they began to exert a significant influence over government policies.
The Doubters clashed with their political foes, the Trusters and were sometimes derided and sometimes encouraged by the Bureau of Xeno Relations according to the political flavour of the times.
