Hourglass Isle

Situated to the East of the City-Ruin. Hourglass Isle had access to a number of surprisingly well preserved Old-World ruins. Allowing it to stake itself a foothold early on in the days post the 1st Calamity. Despite it's limited land, it's access to the Ruin's mysteries let it support a large population of minor magic users. Following a policy that the ruins should be respected and preserved, taking only enough to support their people. Using their upper levels as places of worship, they gave praise to Yavran the half god.   The isle gets it's name from it's shape. Like a hand carrying an hourglass, holding onto the top. The Isle's regions are split into four areas going from north to south. The Wrist, The Hand, The Falling Sands, and the Gathering sands.   They were caught flat footed when the forces of Remnant invaded them early in its expansion. Overwhelmed by their greater access to Relics. They were used as a staging ground for the campaign elsewhere. Their ruins were looted for their value. Leaving Hourglass Isle significantly poorer, and far less able to produce sufficient resources on it's own.   It devastated itself with a civil war not 5 years ago. Though it was finally brought under control, the Isle hasn’t recovered. Much of it's citizenry fled to the surrounding territories, and the City-Ruin. Only time will tell if Hourglass Isle will be able to turn back time. Recently refugees who’d fled to the City-Ruin have started to return. Discovering their homes now shelter for monsters.     Major settlements     The Tri-Tower Reliquary   Located on the "Hand" of the isle. Previously the primary institution that governed the access to the Isle's ruins and Relics. They acted as the central of a Theocracy style government. Now, all the remains is one standing tower, after Remnant's Delver teams mined underneath and destroyed two of the tower foundations. It lies abandoned. Too unstable for any kind of large settlement. A symbol of what once was.      Chamblefort   Located on the "Gathering Sands". Chamblefort gained it's name from the location being selected after their Togruns gathered into a circle and refused to move. The settlers took it as a sign. Chamblefort bosted a medium sized population, and reasonable defences. Making it perfect to start the resettlement of the Hourglass Isles.
