Werewolves
Werewolves or "Lycanthropes" are humans afflicted by a dangerous curse. They live mostly far away from civilisation but are usually very hostile to outsiders.
They have the ability to suppress their true nature and assume a human form after some training, but while disguised their senses and abilities are greatly lessened. They can also lose control of their transformation if they lose their temper.
Lycanthropy is passed down along communal and familial lines, or can be attained through a druidic ritual known as the "lunar sacrament".
Werewolves struggle with their inner beastial nature and are often but a hair's breadth away from unleashing their bloodlust on the innocent people around them. They might call the affliction a curse or a gift, depending on their history with it.
As such the most effective weapon against a werewolf is a weapon of blessed silver laced with some form of poison to slow them down or hinder their regeneration.
Due to their supernatural senses it is nearly impossible to hide from a werewolf. They are also faster and stronger than a human and with their natural regeneration they will excell at hit-and-run tactics. If at all possible a werewolf should be fought outside their preferred environment.
Fighting a werewolf is pointless if you are unable to pin it down and make it unable to flee. The best way to do this is to use steel netting, poisons or to attack its family or young.
The main difference between the two is that a lycanthrope is mostly in control of themselves and their own faculties, while wildlings are controlled entirely by the demonic spirit that inhabits their body.
However even while the human host is in control they are influenced by the demonic spirit's instincs, making them more aggressive and predatory.

Full-Moon curse:
During a full moon a werewolf will always transform back to their true form. Additionally all but the most strong willed of them will lose control of themselves and succumb to their Bloodlust and enter a killing frenzy where they will attack anything that isnt another lycanthrope. This is the primary reason why werewolves prefer to stay away from centers of civilisation.History
The curse of Lycanthropy was originally created by the Horned Wolf as a gift to humanity to use against the Jotnar during the War of Tyrants. It is very similar to the curse that creates Wildlings but altered to allow the human more control.Hunting strategy
Due to their demonic origins, werewolves have a pronounced weakness towards weapons of blessed silver. It inhibits their regeneration and is extremely painful to them.As such the most effective weapon against a werewolf is a weapon of blessed silver laced with some form of poison to slow them down or hinder their regeneration.
