Toral

Divine Rank: Deity
Alternate Names: -
Alignment: Chaotic neutral

Primary Portfolio: Combat

Secondary Portfolios: Hunting, Survival, Rage

Description:

Toral was once a human obsessed with hunting bigger and bigger prey. He also had a habit of eating his kills, which eventually stopped poisoning him and instead granted him superhuman strength.
His crowning achievement is defeating a dragon in single combat and partaking of its flesh, elevating him to godhood.

There aren't many things that can challenge a god, so Toral now spends his time empowering various mortals and giving them quests to fulfill, for he enjoys to watch the spectacle.

Followers:

Toral is a simple god to follow. He wants his followers to have his name upon their lips as they charge into battle and as they feast, and in return he will grant them strength and vigor.
Toral has a significant following in Pucraele, his own country of origin.

Toral empowers hunters and warriors, the pillars of Pucraele society. He needs no churches, his temple is the mead-hall and the battlefield. He grants successful hunts to his followers and fortune in battle. It is no surprise that he dominates the religious practices of Pucraele.

Clerical mandates:

Vow of Poverty
No unnecessary riches. No houses, no jewelry, no gold or gems unless it is to venerate the gods. If money is necessary to achieve a greater purpose, so be it, but never is material wealth the goal.
Vow of Honor
Clerics are expected to behave themselves with honor. To keep their promises, to accept surrender from their enemies, to stand for the values of their god, until death if necessary.
Vow of Pride
Insults to Toral or his followers shall not be tolerated. They shall be avenged, either immediately or when the opportunity arises. Priests of Toral must also have Toral's name upon their lips as they charge into combat or as they partake in feasting.
Mandate of the Hunter
Priests of Toral must hunt an animal every weak, sacrifice half of it to Toral and turn the rest to some useful purpose, such as cooking its meat or turning its hide into clothing.

Appearance

Toral is usually depicted as a red-haired warrior with a large Axe. Often he is also shown standing over a defeated foe or slain animal.
