Inar

Quartermaster

Inar is the female Ferengi quartermaster of Marconi Station. Her shop is on Deck 2 of the old Klingon side of the station, near the docking ports and the cargo bays. She would like to see the outpost become a more significant trade hub for the system, though with the size of the docking ports limited as they are, she is having limited success.
She is extremely diligent in her duties as quartermaster. As a female Ferengi, she is not supposed to be doing business, making profit, or wearing clothes, so she never misses an opportunity to flaunt those rules and help the station thrive. She greatly appreciates the opportunity the Federation and Klingon Empire have given her by making her quartermaster, so she is extremely honest in her dealings. As such, most of the station has been willing to help her dodge scrutiny from the Ferengi Commerce Authority, and she has been able to keep the business license she "borrowed" from her cousin Grel. If the FCA ever does show up, she does have a hologram of her cousin to hopefully sneak past them.

Personal history

As a child, Inar stowed away on a trade ship and knew she had to make it as far away from Ferenginar as possible in order to be treated like a person. She made her way to the far eastern frontier of the Federation, applied for Federation citizenship, and spent most of her teen and young adult years on Starbase 173 as a dockworker. (She did have a small side-hustle smuggling pornographic holonovels into Romulan space.) Once an adult, she decided to move up in the world. She found out that a cousin she superficially resembled, Grel, had been awarded a contract to do business with a couple of minor Klingon houses. She approached him in a Klingon bar, got him blackout drunk, stole said contracts and most of his latinum, and left (mostly true) evidence of his illegal drug dealing with the Klingon authorities. By the time he woke up, he was in a Klingon prison, and she had most of his contracts and identity, including his offer of a quartermaster posting on a new joint Federation/Klingon station.
