Scope
The motivation behind building The Blessed Isles
The Blessed Isles is a campaign expansion to Phaeselis, the City of Psionics. Unlike the city of psionics -- which is about human potential and mental powers. The Blessed Isles have a more magical approach. The Celts believed in magic. They believed magic was everywhere. Wonder was part of their civilization.
The goal of the project
I wanted my players to experience the myth and legends of the Celts during the middle Iron Age. I hope to bring them into a world of myth and magic. And for them to experience a culture that inspired the cultures of the United States of America and Canada. The idea is to help them step back in time.
The Blessed Isles's Unique Selling point
Adventure in the time of Alexander the Great, in the time of the days of the Celts. Unlike the land of Gaul, you are adventuring in the time when the British Isles were considered to be magical.
Theme
Genre
The genre of this world is High Fantasy. The technology is middle iron age. The only culture that has developed steel is the land of Rome, and they are stirring. The Celts used iron mostly, and they produced maille for armor -- which was rare and expensive.
Magic level is high.
Reader Experience
The world should feel mystical to the players. Unlike Phaeselis, which feels like human potential and psionics -- humans are supreme. The world of the Blessed Isles should feel mystical, wonderous, and mysterious.
Reader Tone
The tone of the world is somewhere between bright and dark. The world of the Blessed Isles is yet to be conquered, subdued, or controlled. Nature is still ascendant and there isn't a lot of land subdued.
