Tomaz Larnen
Tomaz Larnen has spent more years saving lives than taking them, though in the The Scarlet Bulwark, the two are often intertwined. Once a bright-eyed medic during The Boil War, Tomaz believed he was fighting for a better future. Now, he patches up broken bodies and sends comrades back into battle, knowing most won’t return. His faith in the cause has worn thin, eroded by loss after loss.
Tomaz stays because someone has to. He knows that without him, the wounded would die alone in the streets, their names forgotten. But each time he binds a wound or sets a broken bone, he wonders if he’s only delaying the inevitable.
Despite his weariness, Tomaz can’t bring himself to walk away. There’s still a flicker of hope, buried deep beneath the scars and sorrow, that the Bulwark can be more than its failures. For now, he keeps going. He has to.

Weary. Compassionate. Loyal.
