Flotfort

Flotforts, formally known as Floating Fortresses, were towering, Gree-powered platforms that served as the backbone of both Awarthan and Holvyran operations during The Boil War. Suspended in the air by volatile gree-reactive engines and bladders, Flotforts were towed into position by dirigible and tethered in place with harpoons and chains, forming the core of the Tightlines. Designed for endurance rather than mobility, they provided artillery support, command posts, and barracks for the soldiers stationed aboard.

Each Flotfort was a patchwork of industrial ingenuity and necessity. Awarthan Flotforts were often rugged and cobbled together from salvaged materials, bristling with scavenged artillery and crude anti-air defenses. Holvyri Flotforts, in contrast, were more refined, with reinforced hulls, dedicated dirigible bays, and precise weaponry. Life aboard a Flotfort was grueling; soldiers endured constant heat, choking fumes, and the ever-present threat of enemy attack or catastrophic mechanical failure.

Some Flotforts were anchored directly to The Boil below, a costly and dangerous process reserved for the most vital strongholds. After the war, many surviving Flotforts were decommissioned, their remains drifting across The Boil. Others were retrofitted into ferries, continuing to serve as vital connections between The Blasted Isles.
