Drelmar Halswold
Drelmar Halswold is a wealthy inventor whose name echoes through opulent halls and workshops of Saltford . Renowned for his dazzling displays of Gree-powered automata, Halswold is celebrated as a visionary who marries industrial ingenuity with supernatural forces. Beneath his polished public image, however, lies a darker obsession: the binding of spectral entities to machinery. Driven by a fascination with immortality and perfection, he believes the merging of ghostly essence with mechanical precision will create a superior form of life.
Halswold resides in Halswold Gallery, a towering estate overlooking Saltford’s misty canals. The building’s lower levels host lavish galas, while its shadowed heights conceal laboratories brimming with unfinished constructs and spectral containment devices. Many of his experiments rely on “volunteers,” often those lured into debt or servitude by his promises of wealth or power. Whispers claim some of Saltford’s missing have found grim fates within his machines.
Ruthless and unrelenting, Halswold wields his wealth and influence to suppress rivals and advance his ambitions. Yet cracks in his confidence are growing; the specters he binds are restless, and their whispers suggest that Halswold’s pursuit of immortality may awaken forces even he cannot control.
