Dovra Lasketh
Dovra “Dove” Lasketh was orphaned young, left to scrape by on the soot-streaked streets of Smokestone until the Brethren of the Hearth took her in. She grew up in their care, learning to fix broken tools, mend equipment, and make herself useful. Over the years, her knack for repair blossomed into a quiet expertise. Now, she runs a small repair shop tucked into the tangled alleys of Smokestone, patching up the Brethren’s stolen goods, salvaged machinery, and worn tools.
Dovra sees the Brethren with clear-eyed pragmatism—they saved her, gave her a purpose, and taught her how to endure. In turn, she takes in recruits brought to her by the Brethren, particularly those with a knack for mechanics. She gives them a roof over their heads, a trade to learn, and a chance to carve out survival in a world that chews up the vulnerable. Dovra isn’t soft—she demands diligence and doesn’t sugarcoat the realities of life in Smokestone—but she is steady, a rare constant for the lost and discarded.
Her nickname, “Dove,” started as an ironic jab at her sharp edges, but her wards use it sincerely. To them, she is a fierce protector, a mentor, and proof that survival doesn’t have to mean surrendering entirely to the darkness.

Resilient, Steadfast, Utilitarian
