The "stairs" Arceaus is referring to is a long and intentionally boring story Corrin once told with a lackluster ending.
Corrin was a member of Fate's Bane trained in the arts of hand-to-hand combat. He was the reincarnation of Thanatos, the son of Hades and the grim reaper. His bloodlust was a result of being born from a devilish and demonic parent, a flaw so powerful that it carried over to his reincarnated form (though it was dormant for some time).
He died helping his friend, Arceaus Longthorn resurrect his friend Gary Groudon. Gary, apparently aligned with Lady Fate and was gifted power from her, killed Corrin. Finally, in a state of peace where he'd never harm another living being again, Corrin decided to stay in the afterlife and refused resurrection.

Body Features

Corrin, due to an accident during his time in Aekminur, lost his right hand in an explosion. He replaces it with a mechanical prosthetic which had a feature allowing it to quickly transform into a firearm.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Corrin was found as a baby by a monastery, which raised and trained him to use violence as protection. Things changed for Corrin when a demon attacked the monastery, and several of his fellow members fell to the terrifying entity. Corrin, finding a knife on the floor during the brawl, picks it up and attacks the demon, killing it. Corrin hid the knife from others, until the night later when he showed it to a trusted friend. When he did, however, he discovered that the knife drew emotions from the wielder- that of bloodlust. Corrin became possessed by these emotions and killed his friend. He ran from the monastery, discovering the only way to satiate the bloodlust was to sharpen the very dagger that drew it.
