Levexi Character in The Ashlands | World Anvil

Levexi

"It's a wide world full of amazing things, and I can sell you most of them!"
~Levexi
Riding into town in a small rickety cart sits a small kobold wearing a battered hat and travel-stained clothes. She stops the cart wherever there is space, opens the sides and reveals her wares, an assortment of toys, oddities, useful inventions, mundane equipment, and shiny curiosities. She never stays long. Strangers of any size are looked on with suspicion. When she goes, inevitably a few things around town are found missing, rarely valuable, but always interesting.
Levexi is a trader, a tinkerer, an explorer, and occasionally a thief. She has crossed Zhaporia, seen the Dragonwaste and the Bay of Ashes, traded in the Free Cities, and claims even to have gone beyond the mountains west of Zhaporia. Wherever she goes, she finds, buys, or steals useful, interesting, and beautiful items to sell in the next town or Haven. Her wide travels make her an excellent source of news, and she has learned which settlements value that fact enough to overlook her oddities and the occasional petty theft. She may not look like much, but she has seen more of this darkening world than most bigger, fiercer folk.

Social

Religious Views

Though she doesn't publish this fact loudly, Levexi holds to the worship of Tiamat, the primordial goddess of chaos. In Levexi's view this is not about destructive tendencies or evil. It's just that the Big People tried to impose order on the world for hundreds of years, and then it all fell apart. Clearly order is not meant to be the way of the world. Change and chaos are the only constants.

Hobbies & Pets

Levexi's cart is pulled by a mule named Francis, who is Levexi's constant friend and companion as well as her beast of burden. Francis is old and canny, with red-brown hair and a fondness for carrots, of which Levexi buys a substantial supply whenever she can.

Speech

Levexi is fluent in draconic. She speaks Elvish, Dwarvish, and Zhaporian as well as Istragan, but these languages are heavily accented since the mouths and tongues of dragonkin are not well formed for shaping their sounds.
