Eridus
Eridus is a habitable, life-sustaining world orbiting the gas giant Kannal, itself orbiting the star Makto. Eridus has blue liquid water oceans, a dense nitrogen-oxygen atmosphere, an average surface temperature of 17ºC, and a surface gravity of 0.87g (8.5m/s^2). It is home to a host of flora and fauna, similar to that found on Earth, which in turn support a civilization of species known collectively as Eridans (genus Homo). This name is not to be confused with Eridians, the collective name for anything from Eridus. Eridus' atmosphere contains 70% nitrogen, 28% oxygen, 1% argon, and 2% other trace elements at a sea-level pressure of around 1.4 bar. Eridus has an equatorial radius of 5,542 km and circumference of 34,865 km.
Eridus is home to various subspecies of Eridans, namely Armarans, Obelans, Cartians, Ridans, Polarians, and the now extinct Mirunites. The Eridan civilizations developed agriculture around 8000 BF and eventually reached the space age in around 2300 AF, colonizing their neighboring moon Mirad, and by extension coming into contact with the Sildors of Mishru, and later the Nakaali of Tsavi. The First Ardurian Space Age however came to an end as a result of a catastrophe in around 2900 AF, affecting all three spacefaring civilizations and cutting off their former colonies.
Geography
Eridus' surface is made up mostly of liquid water oceans, dotted with numerous landmasses ranging from small sandbanks to continents. Eridus is considered to have four continents, two larger and two smaller. The largest continent is Armara, located mostly in the southern hemisphere and which holds a majority of the Eridan population, being the native homeland of Homo armarensis and Homo rida. Obela is the second largest continent, located entirely in the northern hemisphere and home to the species Homo obelli. Chulan is located west of Armara, home to populations of H. armarensis as a result of a far more recent migration. Cartia in the northeast is home to the Cartian subspecies of H. armarensis.
Ecosystem
Eridus' ecosystem supports a wide variety of flora and fauna strikingly similar to Earth in the Quaternary period, though adapted to a lower gravity and higher average temperature.

Eridus has a 15º axial tilt, yielding somewhat weakened seasons compared to Earth.
Fauna & Flora
Eridus exhibits plant and animal life similar to Earth in various stages of its history, though slightly larger in size owing to the moon's lower surface gravity. As the most recent supercontinent in Eridian history existed more than 400 million years ago, mammalian and reptilian creatures dominated different continents, with mammalian animals dominating Armara and reptilian dinosaur-like animals dominating Obela.
