The Chronology of Medius

The history of Medius is subdivided into eras. These help to keep an overview of Medius's different epochs. The system is oriented on Median history and will not match other continents. The chronology starts with the Civilized Age. People began to plant crops and live in the first cities. History before that time is called the Barbaric Age.
Each era marks an essential aspect of the current civilizations of Medius. Each era starts with an important event like a discovery or significant event. Each era was shorter than the previous one. The first lasts almost 5000 years, while the 4th lasts only 300 years.

The Barbaric Age

• Many things are unclear in this period.
• People lived in tribes in friendship or rivalry with each other.
• This time, it ended with the Neolithic Revolution.

1st Era - Era of High Civilisations

• 0C.A. - 4834C.A.
• This era is characterized by villages and towns where people grow food and keep livestock.
• The first civilisations emerged - The High Civilisations.
• This era ended in 4834C.A. (Y4834 E.1) with the rise of the Medempire.

2nd Era - Era of the Medempire

• 4834C.A. - 6452C.A.
• The era is characterized by the name Medempire, which conquered almost all of Medius.
• It was an advanced civilization for its time and lasted many Centuries.
• This era ended 6452C.A. (Y1618 E.2) with the decline and fall of the Empire.

3rd Era - Era of Magic

• 6452C.A. - 7376C.A.
• This era was the prime time of the mages, who influenced every kingdom, county, and duchy of Medius.
• The Kingdom of Contrea emerged and was the only kingdom that excluded mages from their society.
• This era ended in 7376C.A. (Y924 E.3) with the discovery of steam power and crystal magic.

4th Era - Era of Progress

• 7376C.A. - 7659C.A.
• Discoveries like magical crystals open magic to many people. The elemental mages lost their power and influence. Factories powered by both - magic and steam power soon shaped the cityscapes.
• New continents were discovered with new possibilities for travel, and soon colonization began.
• The era ended 7659C.A. (Y283 E.4) with the end of The Grand War.

5th Era - Era of Space Travel

• since 7659C.A.
• After the war, the Council of Peace was formed to keep peace on Sphera.
• The superpowers are still competing but with technology and a space race.
• It's unclear how long this era will last, but it may be longer than the 4th era.
