Nerava, The Moon

Nerava, or Neraav, The Holy Nera, is a moon that orbits the planet Ordu. It circles around Ordu in a slightly elliptical path, all the while keeping a regular 25-day cycle from full to full.   Nevera itself is in turn orbited by a smaller moon Narvurian, (Usran Nav or Usran Hadn "The Little Lantern" and "The Little Sister" )  Name which comes from fact that it reflects the sun's light much more than Nerava itself.
The Moon Base
In year 1574 of New Azyrian Calendar, while tracking a remnant of Ainntar, a group of adventurers managed traverse through the centre of Caran where they found an ancient ruined city. In there they stumbled upon a great portal which they managed to activate. Then, to their astonishment, they found themselves on the surface of the moon. And from there they discovered mysterious structures and a facility of an unknown origin.   Following texts is from the journal of Krivkax, the Zaaney scholar who was part of the adventuring party who managed to stop the ill-fated return of the dying goddess Ainntar.
We found ourselves on a wide square fashioned from large, white marble slabs. In the middle of the square, a black cube stood, like one of Tcarathar's cubes, but much larger. Luckily, the air was breathable, if immensely cold and- surprisingly stale.   As we walked around the area, each corner had an identical portal, like the one we came from.
Looking outwards, it became clear that we were on an elavated plateau of sorts, all around us an endless grey desert dotted with craters and nothing else. We also noticed that there is a force-field of sorts around the plateau, as my friend tried to leave the area, he immediately started to freeze and was unable to breathe.   We walked back at the cube, which was about ten feet in diameter and completely smooth, until my companion touched it. Our side of it first seemed to turn into gel and then gave away for a circular doorway. Carefully we walked in and found ourselves in an empty room which felt larger than it did on the outside. Then the entryway closed and we were in pitch darkness.
Then it showed up. A humanoid figure seemingly made of light. It cracled for a moment and then talked in a language none of us understood. We tried to talk to it, at first it didn't say anything only crackled some and the talked again:   "Thank you for your patience. Welcome, how can I help you?"   We asked what this place was, to which the shape answered: "This facility was created to store and study materials collected by Overseers and their operators.   When we tried to prod more about the nature of these "Overseers" the figure though for a while and then blurted a loud "Redacted" and then apologized. Once we figured out the correct command, the room began to move. We were in darkness for a while, until we came into a giant chamber, a cavern really and the "room" we were in was a cube shaped hard gel-like platform that you could see through. Out there in the dark cavern, a light flickered, then another, until all around us, small city-like cpmplex build on the cavern face came into sight. When we asked about this. The hologram thought for a moment, then answered "The facility is coming back to life, though, only this will take time." We all knew that this was Ainntar's doing"   It didn't take long for us to reach our destination. The platform arrived at an entrance hall of sorts. It was small, featureless space with a pathway into a hallway. As we walked on, I marvelled our surroundings. The wall and the floor was made from a sleek black stone where in which bright teal and blue criss-crossing lines and runes pulsed in a steady beat. Soon we arrived into what I assume is a control point of sorts and what we saw there shocked us.   The room was littered with weird broken machines and tubes. There were fossilised bodies all over the place. The bodies were strange, they bore heavy resemblance to the scaly reptilian races of our world, but their faces were too human to have been any of them.   Some were sitting on odd looking chairs facing the machines on the walls, while many were surrounding a massive throne, where sat a being that shook us all. It was similar in size to the broken husk we saw in Caran. But this was intact, if only fossilized. It's shape was obvious, though none of us wanted to admit it. A dragon, like those in the myths, and in a humanoid form kind of like in the ancient Naazey descriptions, yet it was different. It must have been at least 12 feet tall. It's body was covered in armored suit of sorts, with bundles of tubes and wires going in and out of it's body and onto the ceiling. Yet it all felt organic, like they were grown into it.   Taken a back by what we saw, we continued. The long hallway lead to hall after hall of weird and broken things and beings. Then we arrived into chamber lined with large tanks with runes inscribes into them. All but one were dark, their glass broken or disconnected from the wall. The one intact had a minimal glow to it, it's side had a slowly flickering green light. And most bafflingly, an ordinary, long ago withered rose was set on top of it.   After short discussion and with the help from the hologram, we managed to open the pod and out stepped a confused, huge, naked woman, whose featured were familiar with anyone who has seen old Dalian art. A living Greater Dalis. (We later learned that this was infact El'Anar, the lost heir apparent of olden times) We then managed to communicate our mission to her and she promised to help us.   Under the guidance of the hologram, we finally found what were looking for. We came into a gigantic spherical chamber, it's walls were covered in mirror-like panels which pulsated with power. In the middle, surrounded by machinery and a platform was a suspended- thing. A bloated fetus-like reptilian being. It was glowing with immense energy and before it, flanked by two cubes of Tcarathar was Ainntar, in her dying, sickly old form. She was clearly siphoning it's energy into herself, slowly turning her younger and more powerful.   And then she noticed us.

Author's Notes

This area was part of the my campaing finale and it culminated with my players finally killing the goddess Ainntar. The entire place was designed to throw-off my players and their expectations and question their place in the world. They had seen a lot of ancient tech and it all culminated in the moon base area. Afterwards they returned back to home using a Spelljammer ship they found.
