Hridi

The Hridi, or "Hridicrik" are an extra-dimensional race of insectoid-like people.   While they are seemingly hostile towards other races, the interaction between peoples have been admittedly minimal.   Lately, there have been new sightings of them and they have been confirmed to be somewhat involved in an violent incident that happened in Riek.

Civilization and Culture

History

They were first encountered in the Veil-World of NZR-219 (or "Narzien" as the explorers called it) By a Naazey-Human Veil-Walker exploration team. However, this is most likely not their homeworld and their place of origin lie somewhere beyond it.   The Hridi seem to operate in a bee colony-like society and a Hridi emissary claimed that the world belonged to someone called "Czitcz-Proctor Rhandrax"   Outside of the elite Naazey Astronomers and Veil-Walkers, no one knows anything about them. And this lack of knowledge is intentional, for the Hridi are a dangerous folk. The Veil-Walkers who discovered them, quickly understood the Hridi to be conquerors and cold-blooded warriors, who view all other races as lesser and inconsequential. And shockingly, they learned how Hridi keep all kinds of unknown, yet apparently fully sentient people as little more than cattle. The larger, Riekian human team accompanying the Naazey were all subsequently either captured or killed, and the Naazey themselves only nearly managed to escape using their Temporal Dimension-Sleeves. No further attempts of diplomacy have been attempted since.   After a short conflict in the outreaches of Narzien, the Naazey scholars and officials declared Hridi as "Jhaa'Ajenay" and "Hjai'Ooanas" as "Forbidden Folk" and "Those not allowed to arrive". The upper Naazey council then instituted the "excommunication of knowledge" and all lower-tier personnel were executed for the crime of knowing what had happened.   This is the Naazey way to protect our world from the Hridi, lest it becomes yet another subjugated world for them.

Status after the attacks of 1574

After the incident in Riek and the Razing of Saah. Hridi involvement was apparent and they have been fully revealed to the world.   Remnants of those involved in Riek attack have been either captured, or they were lost the woods. Those captured showed excessive amounts of hostility towards the captors. However, about the same time as the news from Saah came in, most of them fell into a sort of collective depression. And after two days everyone of them snapped out of it. As if they had suddenly become lucid. Some individual Hridi's demeanor turned child-like, friendly even. Others just seems lost.
They are currently kept under locks. But there has been plans to "integrate" at least some into servitude. But more research has to be done before any actions can be done.   In Oroii, the remnants of those who invaded Saah have taken a much more proactive stance. They seem to be more in control of themselves and have actively raided villages for supplies and such. A statue of their late Queen Rhandrax was found standing on hill, few miles west from the Saahian border. Offerings of food and chitinous pieces had been left on it's feet. Curiously, there were some deep-red flowers growing around the statue. Flowers that know one has never seen before.   Haas'a'Suus have been silent on how they are planning to deal with them.

The subjects does not seem to fully understand what has happened to them, they keep saying that their;   "Mother was gone, way to home is lost" and how they "Cannot hear their flock, their home, nothing"   It seems that they may have had a hivemind-like connection to whom they refer as the "Mother" Which is now, thankfully, severed.   Cracha Verdil, Star-shaman from Observatory Two
