Larrasu Ranger
A Larrasu Ranger is a specialized profession within the Larrasu Order, a non-governmental faction that serves as an international peace keeping force, provide relief aid and act as wardens against the supernatural. Rangers are often requested by expedition groups to aid and guide them as they explore ancient ruins, travel throughout the wilderness, and travel out to the frontier on the edge of the known and unknown due to their specialties.
Career
Qualifications
Members of this profession undergo multiple months of the same basic training as everyone else within the Larrasu Order. Once basic training is completed and they choose the Ranger specialization, they will undergo an additional 2 years of training for survival, tracking, scouting, basic alchemy and more.
After that, they become a squire to a ranger of the rank knight or above for two years, at the end of which they undo their knight trials. If a hopeful with a background in a related field joins the order and goes on to become a ranger, the High Council may make an exception to shorten their training but will still require them to become a squire to ensure they act accordingly to the Order's bylaws.
Career Progression
Much like all specializations within the Larrasu Order, the rangers will progress through the same ranks. If a hopeful is accepted into the order, they will undergo roughly 2.5 years of study and training before being officially accepted. Once they're accepted, they become a squire to a knight or above. After two years of apprenticeship, they undergo a series of quick trials to earn the rank of Knight.
Once at the rank of Knight, progression varies from person to person. If the High Council deems an individual experienced and wise enough, they will promote them to the rank of Lord. It is highly unlikely and extremely difficult to reach the rank of High Lord, which sits on the council, and only one Grand Lord can exist at one time.
