Overview

The Well of Souls is a very important geographic wonder within the Luminari Islands. It is located beyond the Red Serpent Bastion and is not very well known by those guarded by the bastion. But still, many warrior societies and monestaries send warriors, healers, supplies, among others to guard the Well, as they forsee only cataclysm if it falls into the wrong hands. Some of the more notable groups come from the Monestary of Jade Lightning, Warrior-Shrine of Bath'al Remar, and the Crimson Whispers Warrior Society. The Well itself is a circular chasm in the earth, with dark stonework around it. A vortex of souls silently being sucked into the soul. Many believe these are all the souls of those who die and are sent to the Well of Souls to pass on to their afterlife.

Defenders of the Well

With the Red Serpent Bastion protecting the rest of the island from the horrors that lie beyond, many have forgotten, perhaps by choice or dogma that the Well of Souls even exists outside of the bastion. However, there are many monestaries and organizations who still remember, and remember their ancient duty to protect the Well of Souls and continue to send out reinforcements each year to reinforce the defenders of the Well. They are some of the few who remember and ensure that the passage to the afterlife for the world is kept safe and sound, and out of the hands of the Oni and Yōkai who might try to exploit it for their own ends.
