Summary
The Starlight Hunt is a legendary event that not many even know of. It is said that when The Starlight Hunt arrives, lycans will tear through a countryside and wreak havoc through villages. Never stopping while the moon eclipses the sun for twenty full days, rampaging through towns and killing any who stand in their way. Amongst those who have researched what scraps of information there are on this phenomenon debate heavily on the actual numbers of lycans. Some say only five-hundred.... others five-thousand. There is so much debated and variation between accounts and stories that historians have long-since given up trying to explain this and create a detailed set of information on it, letting it instead be lost to history instead of attempting to continue digging further.
Speculation
Luckily, or perhaps unluckily there is some speculation that some scholars to actually agree on surrounding this event. While unable to pin down a date they have managed to figure out that The Starlight Hunt usually occurs once every quarter age. Meaning that, depending on when The Starlight Hunt first began, it could have occured up to twenty-four times throughout the ages. Though, scholars do not believe it started in A0 2500.
No one actually knows what stops The Starlight Hunt either, as it seems that each time from what little accounts remain that they simply just disappear after a time. Armies are unable to keep up with them, and villages and towns are unable to defend themselves, left mauled in the wake of the Hunt. They never seem to stop for food or water, or anything, and they seem to have never attacked a castle or other fortified position in however many times this has occured.
