Takhmal, the Surface (Talk-mall)

Overview

Takhmal is, to many, the gateway to Hell. This is almost always the first layer anyone will encounter on their descent through the layers. Though why anyone would want to venture through the depths of Hell willingly is often questionable at best. But still, sometimes a group of adventurers will throw themselves into the pits in adventure, sometimes to save a friend, sometimes for a contract, and sometimes simply to fight the forces of evil. Takhmal itself is an amalgamation of the aspects of all other layers of Hell, but to a lesser degree. It is ruled over by Myr The Defiled, the only greater devil known to wander this layer as the rest under them are minor devils. It is, however, not uncommon for the Lords of Hell to gather their legions here to launch a campaign as it is the layer closest to the material plane.

Geography

The Realm of Myr The Defiled is a vast expanse. Many see it as the gateway to Hell, to which they would not be wrong. If one cannot brave Takhmal then they have no business delving further into the plane of devils.
Within Takhmal there are two major landmarks that people tend to gravitate to. The first of which is the infamous Gateway to Hell, a colossal gateway guarded by two Hellblade Sentinels, giant constructs with a red inferno in their eyes, wielding massive glaives capable of cleaving armies in half. Not even the devils seem to know where these two sentinels came from, but still they guard the Gateway to Hell and prevent tresspassers from throwing open the door before the proper time. Many speculate that the Gateway will rend open a portal into the material realm that is so large that the armies of Hell will be able to march through unimpeded, lead by the Primeval Devil and once again wage an all-out war with the demons.
The other major landmark and one of the few ways to traverse down to the next layer of Hell is the Palace of Infernal Dread, the place where Myr The Defiled rules over their land with an iron fist. Though minor devils may be the only creatures which lurk here, that does not stop their cruelty nor Myr from commanding them with a steely gaze and a lack of remorse. Besides, so long as they control Takhmal, they will keep a bargining chip over the other Lords of Hell
