Begger's Coin

The Begger's Coin is seen as a token of Akemedius, The Trickster God to those less fortunate. It seems to be a token bestowing upon them good fortune. Many question why such a being who seems to show favor to the beggers and homeless who wander the streets without a penny to their name. It is said a cloaked man will pass by a begger when they are at their lowest and give them a silver coin, one side with a jester's face smiling and the other a jester's face frowning. It is said that leaving the coin face up with the smiling jester with someone will grant them good fortune or perhaps keep their fortune the same, however, leaving the coin face down with the frowning jester will bring great misfortune upon them. Because of this, many merchants will treat it as worth far more than simply a silver in hopes that the bearer will not bring misfortune on them. When the bearer gives the coin away it turns into a regular silver coin if left face down and into a gold piece if left face up.
