Ardenthorn (Ar-den-thorn)

Overview

The Ardenthorn is a rare plant native to the Ardenweald. The Wood Elves there often use it to make a paralyzing poison. Of course, using it in a small dose mixed with other native herbs also produces an cure for it as well. The Ardenthorn poison, while not always used by the Wood Elves is prized among monster hunters for it's ability to paralyze even a troll given a high enough dosage. So, the Wood Elves allow some of the poison out in the world through merchants and the like who pass through their groves, and it gives them a steady and reliable income from the prices traders are willing to pay so that they can sell it to others outside of Ardenweald.

The Wood Elves of the Ardenweald use this rare plant to concoct a paralysis poison that sometimes they'll use medicinally but they often find it in high demand by monster hunters and adventurers who use it paralyze monsters and other creatures that might pose a threat. They also might attempt to procure a cure for the poison, as sometimes the Ardenthorn cure can work on other paralysis-inducing poisons and toxins.
