The Golden Ratio

CBD is a company that has a dogmatic belief in mathematics. They primarily concern themselves with terraforming and colonizing, with secondary concerns for starship production and exploration. They view violence as inefficient, and try to avoid it when they can unless it's against NovaTech Engineering. Their contractors will always jump at an opportunity to degrade NTE's capabilities.

A Bitter Split

NovaTech Engineering split off from CBD over disagreements on aesthetics and innovation. CBD's algorythm-based approach left little for the imagination to actually do, which made the team that would become NTE redundant. Like all redundant numbers, CBD cut them off, not expecting to create a rival.

Improve What's Flawed

With the contracts for new worlds drying up and their rival growing in power, CBD worked out a new plan: they took contracts with existing, already terraformed worlds for further terraforming. They've busied themselves (and lined their ledgers all the way back into the black) with upgrading and improving the crumbling terraforming infrastructure of the older eras and bringing them into modern development. Their stated goal now is to find a way to cover an entire planet in a localized gravity field, allowing 1G gravity all over instead of only on the grav plates.
