Liam Stirsky was born on the icy moon of Enceladus, orbiting Saturn. Growing up in a modest agrarian community, he spent his early years as an algae farmer. Despite the simplicity of his life, Liam harbored dreams of fame and fortune, his imagination constantly drifting beyond the icy landscapes of his home. Music became his escape, and he channeled his aspirations into forming a band, The Starseeker von Stumbleblaat.
The band started small, playing at spaceport bars and local gatherings. Their big break came when a video of one of their performances went viral on Solarnet, catapulting them to fame. The Starseeker von Stumbleblaat embarked on an independent tour across the Solar System, releasing music and building a dedicated fanbase. Their success caught the attention of Eclipse Entertainment, which signed the band to a lucrative deal.
However, the dream quickly turned sour. The manager assigned to them by Eclipse Entertainment had his own agenda, wanting to replace Stirsky with his son as the lead. The contract was oppressive, binding Liam to Eclipse Entertainment and entitling them to all of his future work, not limited to music. As a result, Liam was forcibly reassigned from the Entertainment division to the Military Division of Eclipse Entertainment, a stark and unwelcome shift.
In this new role, he met Shin Shuelgi, a formidable and skilled soldier. Despite the harsh circumstances, Liam found that he enjoyed the mercenary lifestyle. He threw himself into the work, and together with Shuelgi, they became an unparalleled team, achieving record success rates on their missions. Their camaraderie and efficiency made them the pride of the company.
But Shuelgi's departure from Eclipse Entertainment marked a turning point for Liam. The joy he once found in his mercenary work evaporated, replaced by the grim reality of his indentured servitude. Feeling trapped and disillusioned, Liam began to scrutinize his contract, searching for a loophole. He discovered that Eclipse Entertainment's claims were specifically tied to the name Liam Stirsky.
With a newfound resolve, he changed his name to Liam Midas, effectively freeing himself from the oppressive contract. Embracing his new identity, he purchased the LFS Derelict, a ship that would become his new home and base of operations. Gathering a crew of skilled and like-minded individuals, Captain Liam Midas forged a new path as one of the most talented and notorious mercenaries in human space.
