The Sea Rot

Causes

No one knows from where the Sea Rot first emerged, but it is known that it is a curse of the blood that only affects the southwestern portion of Occidentium. Some rumours have it that the illness is a curse visited upon the people of Occidentium by an old and vengeful god in recompense for abandoning The Old Faith.

Symptoms

The Sea Rot, exactly as it sounds, manifests as the progressive decomposition of the flesh. This can often be seen at birth as the baby will have a very small mark of the rot on them shortly after birth. From their, the decomposition will spread until it covers their whole body. Eventually, the rot consumes the internal organs and the afflicted either drowns in their own blood or of septic failure or some similar cause.
