Emperor of Corcelle
It is the solemn duty of His Imperial Eminence to protect and preserve the Grand Order of Corcelle. He is the guardian of Corcellean security and defense, tasked with upholding justice and bringing harmony to the realm. By setting the policies of Corcelle, he determines the fate of the empire: from taxation and lawmaking to foreign relations and the making of war and peace. And what greater responsibility does he possess than the mandate of the Goddess Herself in service as the Herald of Telene, upholder of order and preservation? He invokes her blessed wisdom and shines as a beacon of eternal, orderly progress to all the mortal realms of Luralon.
Requirements
Appointment
The Imperial Crown is inherited through primogeniture, with the previous Emperor's firstborn son (or daughter in the absence of the former) ascending to the throne by rights. However, the Telenic Church, the official state religion of Corcelle, plays a significant role in the appointment process.
During times of transition, the Telenic clergy closely observes for omens and signs of divine revelation, seeking to confirm the will of Telene, the goddess of order and preservation. Upon the death of an Emperor, the Telenic clergy will ceremonially confer the title of Herald of Telene upon the chosen successor, signifying the divine right to rule and the sacred trust to preserve the empire.
The coronation of a new Emperor is a grand and elaborate ceremony, attended by dignitaries and officials from all corners of the empire, as well as esteemed guests from allied kingdoms. It is a momentous occasion, marking the beginning of a new era and the transition of power. The coronation ceremony includes a variety of rituals and traditions, all designed to consecrate the new ruler and invoke the blessings of Telene upon their reign. Upon completion of the ceremony, the new Emperor is officially invested with the authority to rule and is given the full weight of the imperial crown.
