Session 12 - Sprite Based Sleuthing
General Summary
The party (Stranger, Dajiri, and Muse) returns back to the Gossiping Hen after completing the two bounties that were to the north of the city, having delivered the boar skins. They find Soe, who is feeling much better.
Soe shows off the Familiar that she has managed to conjure, a Pseudodragon called Fennrys. Having introduced them, the party informs her that they have made some money doing bounties, but that they found a third
Soe translates the letter using Comprehend Languages, and it reads "Please help, me and my family is unable to return to our home. They are being kept prisoner under the Old Hunt. We want to return to the East. I am the only one who got away. I am hiding at the corner of the castle wall. Come at night".
As it was still late afternoon, the party hung around the Gossiping Hen for a few hours, with the exception of Muse and Stranger, who went to the blacksmith, Bloodbath & Beyond, so that Muse could buy a shield.
In the evening, around 10pm, the party went to the corner of where the castle wall met the outer city wall. They found a sprite, called Reed. Stranger reacted aggressivly initially, as she didn't like that he came from the Feywild. However, Soe was able to talk Stranger down from immediatly swatting the Sprite who was just looking for help. Reed informed them that him and his family had been captured by thugs, and were being used as a source of Fae-Powder.
Reed directed the party to a hunting shop in the south of the city called "The Old Hunt", which was beat up, and looked closed. However, someone who worked in the shop came from a nearby alley, and queried their precence.
With some quick thinking from Stranger appealing to the greed of the thug, he lets them into the shop, and starts showing off the traps, but quickly turns the conversation to the Fae-Powder, explaining how it works, that half a vial will stop a deer from running away.
Soe purchases a vial of the Fae-Powder, and while Stranger distracts the guy by asking about the largest bear trap they have, Soe uncorked the vial, emptied out half the vial, and dumped it on the thug. The thug was unaffected, as it was a half dose for a human, and he got angry.
In reaction to the charm affect not sticking to him, Dajiri punched him in the face.
Combat
The combat above resulted in the four thugs in the basement hearing the rukus, and one of them coming through a trapdoor. One stayed near the trap door firing arrows from cover while the rest below
