Return to Agratia City

General Summary

Session Report

Players Present: Servius, Chewed, Hibbledon, Zala

Summary of Events

The session opened in the wake of a pivotal conversation between Servius and Halinorton. In this moment of rare clarity, Servius—a Dhampir whose body appears mechanical—gained valuable insights into his origin and nature. While he had little time to reflect, this knowledge deepened his sense of purpose just as the party set its sights on Agratia City.

Amidst the turmoil of Agratia’s ongoing civil war, the capital has become a fortress under the control of the Order of the Dragon. The streets are tense, the skies patrolled by dragons, and the palace stands as a symbol of the Order’s influence in the region. Within its walls, Zala—Wood Elf and party member—remains a prisoner.

Zala had endured interrogation by two key figures: Galtor, one of the Order’s champions and secretly an adult Gold Dragon, and Professor Mado, her former necromancy teacher. Their line of questioning hinted at a deeper agenda, but their plans were cut short—Zala is now being held for the Clockwork Queen, Galtor’s sister, who is expected to take her into custody.

Meanwhile, Servius and Chewed scouted the palace’s perimeter. Servius moved with silent precision, while Chewed wildshaped into a small creature to ride in his pocket. They discovered that the palace’s mechanical guards were powered by glowing crystals identical to those once found in the northern temple of Soltrer—an unsettling sign of the Order’s reach and technological control.

Returning to safety, the two joined Hibbledon to study a crystal they carried. Their experiments revealed that the crystal was tied to emotional states. Under the influence of calming mushrooms, Chewed linked with the crystal and suffered a dangerous consequence. He became invisible, then began to fade into the astral plane. His body showed signs of organ failure as the connection deepened, but through great effort, he returned to the material world—alive, but clearly changed.

Determined to act before Zala is moved, the party launched their infiltration. They studied guard patterns and movements, using stealth and careful planning. Servius crossed the gardens silently, nearing the entrance to the palace’s lower levels. At the last moment, the door swung open—someone was stepping through—and the session ended on a cliffhanger.

Important Decisions & Outcomes

  • Servius unlocked a deeper understanding of his origin, potentially shaping his future actions and powers
  • The group confirmed that the Order’s constructs are powered by crystals, raising concerns about divine energy being harnessed for military control
  • Chewed’s experiment with the crystal demonstrated the emotional and planar volatility of this power source
  • Quests and Objectives

    In Progress:
  • Rescue Zala from the palace before she is transferred to the Clockwork Queen’s custody
  • Investigate the Order’s use of divine crystals and the broader implications for the civil war
  • Mystical or Magical Events

  • The energy crystal reacted to Chewed’s emotions, initiating a shift toward the astral plane and near physical collapse. The magic appears to be volatile and deeply tied to divine or extra-planar sources—possibly a weapon or conduit of massive potential
  • Notes for Next Session

  • Who is stepping through the door—an ally, a guard, or something worse?
  • What is the Clockwork Queen’s true purpose for Zala, and can she be stopped in time?
