Feywild
The Feywild is one of the inner planes, created during the Great War of Champions as a reflection of the mortal world, but infused with the chaotic, magical essence of the Fey. The realm is a land of vibrant and constantly shifting landscapes, where reality itself bends and warps to the whims of its inhabitants. The Feywild is filled with glowing forests, radiant rivers, and expansive meadows that seem to go on forever, making it a place of breathtaking beauty and untamed magic. Time flows differently here, and travelers may find themselves returning to the mortal plane years after they departed, unaware of the passage of time.
Inhabitants of the Feywild, such as pixies, sprites, and other Fairy creatures, embody the raw forces of nature and emotion. These beings are capricious, often acting according to their desires, and follow an ancient set of rules and patterns unique to their realm. Unlike mortals, they are not bound by conventional concepts of good and evil, making them unpredictable and dangerous to interact with.
A key characteristic of the Feywild—and indeed, of all fairy creatures in this realm—is their reincarnation cycle. All such creatures, regardless of their power, reincarnate after death. This process takes anywhere between 6 months and 40 years, with the length determined by the individual’s power. While their memories may fade, their essence is reborn, continuing the endless cycle of life and change. This reincarnation is tied to the very fabric of the Feywild, reinforcing the realm’s perpetual state of flux and transformation.
The Feywild was created alongside the other inner planes during the Great War of Champions, a time when the gods’ influence began to reshape the mortal world. While not a direct participant in the conflict, the Feywild's power surged as part of the divine forces imparted onto the world, influencing the course of events and occasionally interacting with the forces of light and darkness in subtle and mysterious ways.
