Amrix

Amrix, the previous Gem Greatwyrm, was a majestic Amethyst Dragon known for her wisdom, vision, and deep commitment to balance and prosperity. As the only one among the former greatwyrms who advocated for maintaining the natural order, Amrix believed that the strength of their rule depended on the well-being of all creatures within their domain. Her scales, a radiant purple that shimmered like polished amethyst, reflected both her mystical connection to the arcane and her affinity with the elemental forces of the earth. She was revered for her keen intellect and strategic mind, which she used to counsel others towards harmony and sustainable growth.   Amrix stood apart from her fellow greatwyrms in her philosophy. Unlike those who sought dominance through fear and control, she believed that a thriving and flourishing population would ultimately yield greater rewards and stability for the greatwyrms themselves. Her approach was one of cooperation and mutual benefit, seeing these as the true paths to enduring power and prosperity. She envisioned a realm where all beings could thrive under the benevolent oversight of the greatwyrms, bringing lasting peace and balance to the world.   However, her ideals and her influential position made her a target of suspicion for Rosator, her ambitious and paranoid brother who sought absolute control. As Rosator’s rule grew more tyrannical, he became increasingly distrustful of those around him. Convinced that Amrix, with her different views, was conspiring with their other siblings to overthrow him, Rosator perceived her as a direct threat to his authority. Despite her repeated attempts to persuade him of her loyalty and her commitment to peace, Rosator’s fears overtook his reason. He ultimately betrayed and killed Amrix, mistakenly believing it was necessary to secure his reign.   Amrix's death marked a tragic turning point in the history of the greatwyrms, extinguishing the one voice that had advocated for balance, peace, and prosperity. Her demise was a significant loss, not just to her kind but to all who valued harmony in the realm. Remembered as a beacon of wisdom and benevolence, the amethyst dragon’s legacy endures as a reminder of what could have been—a realm ruled by fairness and foresight—and the catastrophic consequences of unchecked ambition and paranoia.
