The Spines, Elamir Lake

At the centre of Elamir Lake is a small mountain range, the peaks of which poke out above the water. This maze of rocky spires and caves covers an area of nearly 20 square miles. It is usually given a wide berth by people, as not only is it very hard to navigate by ship due to the narrow waterways and underwater hazards, but it is the ideal home to an enormous number of indigenous beasts and monsters, as well as some not so indigenous ones.   There is a large network of underwater and dry caves throughout which are the homes to many of these creatures, and are also the subject of a number of stories about Limmerick Jones; A pirate who was the only man daring and skilled enough to establish his base of operation in the Spines, or so the myths and fables say. For this reason they are often referred to as the 'Jones Spires' amongst the residents of the lake shores.
