The Hawkan Guild
The adventurers guild of Evermere for all good and rightous heroes! It was founded by an adventurer named Ellias Hawkan in 2171 A5.
It is a place for registered adventurers to come together to discuss and help each other over a drink, get some food and board and, most importantly, to acquire work. This work ranges from bounties placed by local law, nobility, merchants and governing bodies (in which case it is funded by them) to other local issues, in which case the general public can petition the guild to get a bounty placed, and if management deem it just they will create the job and fund the payment.
The guild is wealthy and it's some of it's money comes from the 10% percent stake they take from completed jobs, but much of it comes from donations made by local nobility; who recognise the good the guild does or appreciate the extra safety it offers the local area, and also from affluent veteran adventurers who cut their teeth in the guild before finding their own wealth.
Membership
Membership within the guild is fairly easy to attain, and all that is required to enter the guildhalls, use the services and take the general jobs from the job board is the guilds membership medallion. This medallion is made from bronze with a platinum 'H' inlay. It is not ostentatious, but it is expensive enough that the average joe with no adventuring experience would not be able to afford it. They can be obtained from any guildhall for 20GP.
However this is only the first step. As a person completes more jobs, difficult jobs, or generally earns the guild prestige their name will become better known to the guilds management, and the higher stake jobs are reserved only for the most respected members
