Sagerites

  • A faith routinely practiced by seafaring folk, the primary deities of which are Aquas, Auria and Erebus.
  • Aquas and Auria are representative of the wind and the sea, both of which are the most vital thing to a seamans livlihood, and the most dangerous to them as well.
  • Erebus, also called the 'Navigator' is worshipped for it is at his time of the day that the constellations used for navigation are seen. He is also the figure they believe collects the dead and ferries them to the astral sea.
  • Other gods are often also represented, though are more a matter of personal taste than scripture. These include, but are not limited to; Zindatu, Dagon and Calabran
The love and the danger of the ocean often bring those who live on or near it into the rectories of the Sagerites, a sect of the Manaian faith. It's churches; known as sanctuaries, can regularly be found within port cities, and it is not uncommon to find it's holy men amongst the crews of ships.   These temples, or sanctuaries are usually built in or near the water and often take the form of functional lighthouses; beacons to guide sailors to the shore, much like their faith is a beacon to guide them to the afterlife.   Though it is not as big as the Church of the Wheel as far as it's congregations go, it is one of the most widespread of the Manaian faiths, having sanctuaries in port cities around the world.
