Mâleçédon (Maal-ess-ay-don)

Ancient ruin of a long lost city in Evermere. The ocean beneath it is treacherous and no ship dare travel within 20 miles of the cliffs, so dangerous are these waters that Queen Elmir 3rd commissioned the raising of 4 small islands from the sea bed with the use of powerful magics, positioned in a semi-circle around the ruin. On these islands the Mâleçédon Beacons were built, 4 unmanned lighthouses which operate using luminor. On the other side of stretches the vast Gloombriar forest which is dangerous at best of times, but the closer to the dead city you get, the wilder and more hazardous it becomes.   The ruinous city itself is reputed to be that of an ancient Elven culture, once a part of Evermere before ancient magics sank it into the sea, leaving Mâleçédon as the only sign of their existence.   This is unlikely though, as there is no evidence elves existed in Thaeria before Humans, Dwarves, Gnomes and Hobbits. Furthermore Mâleçédon is Elvish for 'Forsaken place', so it is likely a place they discovered sometime after whatever ruin befell it.
