Military Investigation
- The Stalwart (Brig) - 4th Brightdawn 3247 – Did not return from patrol, no crew or wreckage found.
- The Interceptor (Corvette) - 6th Brightdawn 3247 - Sent to search for the Stalwart. Circled The Spines before returning. Found wreckage but turned out to be from an unknown merchants vessel (though likely 'The Periwinkle' which had been expected to arrive in Pillyput on the 3rd Brightdawn).
- The Dillinger (Galleon) - 16th Brightdawn - Sent to The Spines to begin a full investigation. Arrived safely. Griffon Lances did checks on the ship every few hours. On the 18th the ship was scuttled and beached against one of the khast spires. They rescued one man (Sergeant Teller who had climbed up a nearby khast spire and got their attention. As far as he knows he is the only survivor, though not all the crew were on the ship when it was attacked. The riders searched for them but found nothing. The crew included 6 civilian experts as well as Commodore Pieyt.
- The Interceptor (Corvette) - 23rd Brightdawn – Sent out to rescue The Shining Spear; the private corvette of Lord Tyron Onhuhst; Baron Erendol Onhuhsts brother who, despite the warnings about the lake, had been travelling to Pillyput. Griffon Lances were also deployed, but were too late and found the ship empty and adrift. On their return journey they witnessed the Interceptor sinking and picked up 2 survivors (private Underhill and private Callum), but watched helplessly as the rest were dragged down into the depths

- Set out 1st Highsun – The Elisah and her crew (estimated 17) - Local ship, commissioned by 5 adventurers who did not have their own ship. No sign of ship or crew
- Set out 14th Highsun - The Wave Cutter and her crew (8) - Bodies of crew and some debris from the ship washed up ashore on the 18th Highsun
- Set out 28th Highsun – The Lady Harpy and her crew (estimated 22) - Ship recovered with severe damage and crew missing.
- Set out 3rd Sunwane – The Legitimate Rube and her crew (10) - Returned to port on the 5th of Sunwane before setting off again on the 6th of Sunwane. No sign of ship or crew since then
- Set out 11th Sunwane – The Peregrin and her crew (estimated 13) - One survivor (name not recorded) arrived at Thisterwick, a small village 8 miles north of Pillyput in a rowing boat. He reported that they were attacked by many headed beasts, and he was the only one to escape. By the time clerks arrived to speak to him he had left and the report came from a fisherman who spoke to him.
- Set out 3rd Amberfall – The Gilgamesh and her crew (estimated 14) - No sign of ship or crew
- Based on the occasional unknown body, and fairly regular debris washing up, it is likely there are others that never made it to Pillyput to be recorded.
