Dhodon

Dhodon , God of the Dead

Dhodon ranks among the supreme 5 gods of the pantheon. Along with the other four gods Osyn oversees the mundane dealings of Haven as well as it's interests in other planes. The 5 of them meet once a century to discuss recent occurrences and contemplate any issues that are taking place. The council can be summoned more regularly, however, in the case of an emergency. For example. during the Realm Wars their meetings were scheduled each week and the 5 acted as a form of war council from which they fought against the forces invading the The Mortal Realm.

Before the Mortal Realm

Even before the discovery of the Mortal Realm Dhodon served as a safe keeper of souls. After seeing countless souls captured by the vile Demons or nefarious Fae he had decided it was imperative that the gods step in to prevent these enemies from obtaining too much power. He advocated fervently for acts against these enemies of the gods. After many debates the other gods agreed that the souls should be protected and it was their responsibility to do so. It was not always possible to save a soul from being separated from their physical form, however, and soon the outer district of Haven was full of wandering souls, unable to find their bodies and return to normal life.   The gods approached Dhodon with this problem and said that seeing as the protection of the souls was his idea, he should be responsible for finding a permanent place to keep them. He agreed and started his most ambitious project yet. Over the next few centuries Dhodon used all his power to reshape his realm. Once his work was complete he opened his realm to the lost souls wandering around Haven. They flooded in by the millions. Each soul finally finding rest.

Entering the Mortal Realm

Eternally busy with maintaining his domain, Dhodon did not realise the initial discovery of the Mortal Realm. Not until a surprise visit from Osyn . Osyn had come to him in great agitation. He told him about the new realm that the gods have discovered and about his suspicion that the demons would discover it soon too. He had pleaded with Dhodon to extend his protection of spirits to this new realm. He told him about the new life he had discovered there and did his best to try and convince Dhodon that the souls of these new creatures also needed protection. After some time Dhodon agreed and opened his realm to the dead of the Mortal Realm as well. Once the spirits started entering Dhodon could see why Osyn was so enamoured with these creatures. He watched them dream, watched them remember and marvelled at this new realm and its people.

Dhodon's Realm

Dhodon's demi-plane is sectioned into three parts. There is the smallest part. This is where Dhodon himself lives and from where the managed the workings of the rest of the plane. Secondly you have what he calls The Vortex. This is the first layer that a new soul experiences when they enter the demi-plane. It is an infinitely huge vortex that pulls in souls from across the universe, ensures they are not somehow infiltrators trying to gain access to his souls and then deposits valid souls into the holding chamber. The holding chamber makes up almost 90% of the rest of his realm. It is where the souls are forever kept in a form of stasis. They will float around in this realm in eternal sleep. Here the souls dream of their previous lives or live out fantastical new adventures within their minds.

Divine Domains

Dhodon rules over the souls of the dead. Once a creature or person in the Mortal Realm dies, its soul is transported to Dhodon's demi-plane in Haven. Here, the soul spends the rest of it's days in a form of stasis. While in this state, the soul will dream of their lives and the lives they wished to live. This is a blissful state and a soul can be at peace in Dhodon's realm.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Among all the gods. Dhodon is the most involved in the everyday lives of the people of the Mortal Realm. He sees it as his personal duty to ensure their souls are safely transported to him after death. A soul lost to necromancy or stolen by a Demons or Fae is seen to him as a personal affront against him.
