Theorepublic of Enetoi
Not to be confused with the city of Enetoi, the capital of this country.
The Theorepublic of Enetoi is a sovereign state and thalassocracy centered around the city of Enetoi, a series of islands off the coast of Belladocia. It includes possessions throughout the Sea of Apannina and eastern Matre Sea, and is the seat of the Haugrkirk Emuna, whose Metropolitan is also secular head of the theorepublic.
Enetoi is the wealthiest country in the world, from both its phenomenal amount of trade, and also from its reception of tithe money paid to the Haugrkirk from across the world. Its population is somewhat small, but its wealth allows it to maintain a sizable mercenary army. The real military power of Enetoi comes from its massive galley fleet, which is capable of defeating even the impressive Berytusian Empire. Its control over trade means that its diplomatic power is extreme, and being cut off from the market in Enetoi means losing open trade with most of the world. The power of the metropolitan is also wielded by the theorepublic, having the power to excommunicate entire countries. Because the metropolitan is elected by the Electoral College, consisting of Cardinals, and the Cardinals are in turn selected from the various elderships of Emuna, the government of Enetoi is generally tolerant and cosmopolitan, and there have been very few native Enetoian metropolitans.
