Zagan, Arch Devil of Fear and Madness, Lord of the Seventh

The crawling, skittering dread that crawls down ones spine, the horror and terror that strips sanity apart faster than any spell, this is the domain of the Nightmare Lord, Zagan. He is by far one of the weaker Arch-Devils, but his rule is somehow the most freigthening. He has fewer followers than the other Arch-Devils, but he feeds on more than souls and worship: fear itself. Every flash of fear feeds him even if only a little, and so he can gorge himself on the terror he and his spawn create. Those that do worship him in cults are almost always insane, and love to kidnap victims and subject them to terror or posion them into deep sleeps where they dream of nightmares that destory the brain and soul. There is power in fear, and those wishing to use fear as a means for power will find Zagan to be a generous lord indeed. He grants power of intimidation and violence, and illusion mages are by far his favored servants. However, when the debters must pay their due, he subjects them to untold millenia of horror and torture, before simply devouring them in a grand display of horrific butchery.
He rules from his throne in the Seventh Layer, known as Uroth, and it is a realm that more than any other defies expination. It is an ever shifting, warping nightmare realm of flesh and meat and metal and hate. It warps to be the terror of all things, and any who arrive will find it is what they find most horrific. For this reason, his demons and devils are also flesh warppers and shifters of horrifying caliber, able to morph their bodies into several things at once in a horrific parody of life. Shambling Horrors and other such examples of the horrors of the body being warped are thought to be creations of him. He is according to his servants a just and fair ruler, neither asking too much or too little of his followers, for they all are simply enjoying themselves. Indeed he and his children find incredible joy and intrest in mortals, finding them atrociously funny. Zagan delights in torture, being considered the master of torture, using the worst fears of someone against them. He laughs heartily at how the fear of something is ussually far worse than the actual threat, something that all mortals seem to share. He is the ruler who uses fear to bring order, the priest who puts the fear of gods into the populace, and all will eventually learn to fear the people they rule over. So he laughs still, black ichor dripping down his smile that reaches from ear to ear, bellowing amongst the trillion screams of terror and doom.
