The Slaves of Perfect Pain

Pain, is a gateway to the most primal desires and emotions mortals can ever experience. Those of the Slaves of Perfect Pain know this lesson well, and are highly in-tune with the pain of themselves and others. It is said that they came from a small tribe that immigrated to a lonely island, small but with enough farmland to sustain a small tribe. They built a great stone fortress upon the island to find safety in, but demons emerging from the waters would assail them constantly, and more and more of the tribe began to die. The demons laughed and did vile things to the corpses of the fallen, and this would drive many of the tribesmen mad. The Warchief of the tribe would become the first to, in a horrifying display, slice the flesh off of his face and nail it to his armor. This trick seemed to confuse the demons, and soon the whole tribe took to this practice as they called their chief the Flayed Prince. Eventually he would die, but he ascended into demonhood, and became a great god to the tribe that he renamed the Slaves of Perfect Pain. When this happened, the Flayed Prince swore to Lilith and she allowed him and his new worshippers to not only enjoy the pain, but also love it. They now craved the pain they inflicted on others. They swore to impart their gifts of pleasurable pain onto others, and since then they have ravaged the Forbidden Lands, taking captives and inflicting unimaginable pain upon them and themselves.

Structure

The Skinless Ones are the leaders of the Flayed Prince's court, and have cut off their limbs and replaced them with scythe like weapons, and dance across the battlefield to dismember their enemies. The Razor Dancers are under the Skinless Ones, and act as elite enforcers of the Skinless Ones, hunting enemies to the court and stripping the flesh from their bones with sharpened blades. Under them are the Carved Ones, who have carved off their own limbs and replaced them with bloody flesh hooks, coming ever closer to their sadistic enlightenment. Finally, the lowest are the Full-Skins, who have only just started their journey of pain, having recently flayed their face off.

Culture

When a child of the tribe becomes of age, they get their face flayed off. It is then cured and then attached to their armor. They do this without any means of numbing the pain, and after this they typically wear skull masks or veils to keep their face from being blasted by the wind. As they grow in age, more and more of their flesh and skin is cut, sliced, and peeled off in agonizing rituals, and in many cases the cultists exchange limbs for attachable weapons. It is believed that through the act of eventually completely discarding one's humanity would lead them to total devotion to their gods, and be elevated into the court of the Flayed Prince and Lilith, where they would experience unimaginable pleasure and agony. Their obsession with agony can be seen amongst their victims that they display in giblets and spiked cages to spread terror to their enemies.

Mythology & Lore

The Slaves of Perfect Pain worship the Flayed Prince, and Lilith. They both show them the ways of true pain, and teach them to love the constant agonizing pain that they are in. They inflict suffering upon others to honor their god and Prince, and they in turn are rewarded for it.   Little do they know that the demons that assailed their ancient ancestors were those sent by Lilith, for she baited and wanted the tribe to go mad and end up worshipping the same god they fought against long ago, finding the delicious agonizing irony absolutely delectable.
