The Beast
"Drip drip he steps on cobblestone
Drip drip he walks on blackened bones
Drip drip he comes to take our lost hearts
Drip drip he comes, a master of his art
Drip drip he comes to put rest to the dead"
-Lullaby of the beast, told to scare Dhamphir and vampire children into going to sleep
Drip drip he shall be at the end of your bed
Summary
After the Crusade of Light, there would be one man, who was said to have lost everything. His son and daughter, butchered like animals, and his wife torn to shreds by a wandering vampire. It is said in the blood of his dead family, it would baptize him into what he would be known as: "The Beast"
He would travel to the Deadlands, with his saw clever and blunderbuss that he hand crafted, and with his blade and gun, would cut a swath of bloody vengeance across the Deadlands. While a fair number of vampires died during the Crusade, this was different, as The Beast would savagely butcher, tear, and rend over 50 vampires in the span of just one week. After butchering his last victim, a Count of a noble vampire bloodline and the murder of his vampire, he would seemingly vanish, but the stories still say that the Beast still wanders the lands, savagely butchering any undead creature he finds, be it monster, man, woman, or child, for he has lost all form of sympathy or emotion in his soul
Spread
This legend only really is around the Deadlands
Cultural Reception
The vampires for the first time, seemed scared, for no one had killed so many vampires in so short a time. While after this event the True Hunters would come to be, no True Hunter would ever strike as much fear into a vampires cold dead heart then The Beast. There was even a lullaby made to scare Dhampir or Vampire children.
