Despite the elven lifespan generally going to 1000 years, with magic this can be extended further. This coupled with the elven pantheon bestowing upon him their blessings and power, he truly has become seemingly immortal, and in perfect physical shape as well.

Personal history
It is said that horror can sometimes force people into becoming monsters. This much is true for the elves of iadith, but doubly so for its current ruler, Halvaalrel the Immortal. His birth was near the tale end of The Age of Tears, where his birth was heralded by a large arcane comet burning across the sky, and the constellations of their gods pulsed with life as Halvaalrel exited womb and cries into the open air. His parents were of a powerful noble family in the capital of the dead empire of Iadith, and everyone there knew he was destined for greatness.
He grew up quickly as all children do, and had to live with the horrors of the Age of Tears. However, it is said when he went into the throne room that had remained empty up until then, the entire room exploded with holy light. Many rushed into the room to see and witnessed Halvaalrel reborn as a beautiful, towering figure of golden light, with fey like angles of the elven pantheon circling around him. He declared with a voice that boomed across the entire island of Iadith that the time of mourning and woe was at an end, that the gods have chosen a new path for their people, one where they can retake the world and guide it into a peaceful, better age. This would quickly begin to unite the nation, and those who did resist and try to cling to their territory met terrible ends at the wrath of Halvaalrel.
So he sits upon his throne to this day, an emperor of a gleaming nation, a being of both pure beauty and pure horror. He will bring the world to order, and he does not care for how much blood must be spilled for the lesser peoples to kneel. For the elves are the true gods chosen people of the land, no one else but them should rule the world.
Mental Trauma
The horrors of the civil war are said to wrack his sleep like trances to this day, and suffers from terrifying nightmares that only further colden his heart to emotion.
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
Halvaalrel had to live through the fall of his empire, and that had changed him on a fundamental level. He went from a kind and caring individual to a grim and determined king to see his empire risen from the ashes. Where war was once a terrible and horrifying necessity, it began to become glorious and righteous. After having united the empire, he now feels that the elven people should, in time, rule the world once more, in his lifetime.
