Basti

Basti is the language spoken by the Dustbowler peoples; the Hawarami and the Bibisangi. It incorporates use of gestures, as well as expressions and non-verbal communication, making it a difficult language to record. It evolved in the early days of the Pinascimate Penal Authority as a means for convicts to communicate to each other without being understood by the Penal Authority.  When these convicts were able to escape, many of them took this proto-language with them, developing it along their journey.  These people, who have become known as the Dustbowlers, ventured across the Sahamptha Desert, with the Bibisangi settling Bibisango, and the Hawarami settling Harmony.  There are minor differences between the two cultures, and this is reflected in their Basti dialects.   Basti is considered unrelated to most major modern languages, and has more in common with prison slang than Nevadan.  Because of this, speakers of this language are sometimes discriminated against, either due to their use of tattoos as a means of conveying personal information, or by their unique naming conventions, which can often translate into Nevadan as poetic, such as Expanded Horizons.
